According to the Daily Star a team has been called in to protect the famous reality stars as they visit WH Smith in London’s Brent Cross shopping centre on Saturday.

Their troop of private minders is more than double the number that Justin Bieber has, which suggests the couple who became famous on The Hills are truly concerned for their own safety.

The couple who will be signing copies of OK! Magazine, on which they are on the front cover, will be protected against anyone who wishes to cause trouble and to stop any obsessed fans from getting too close.

Ahead of their appearance the couple appeared excited, saying: ‘ Come and meet the King and Queen of reality TV. See ya there.

‘To all the lovers and haters in Britain, come and see the real Speidi before we head back to the USA. We’ve been reading all your Tweets about us. So come and tell us in the flesh. Ha ha ha!’

A spokesperson for WH Smith confirmed the security: ‘Everyone is very excited Speidi are coming. For health and safety reason we will have 15 security guards.’

Spencer and Heidi, who recently came second in the show revealed that they found the atmosphere in the house scary.

Spencer recently told the Daily Star: ‘Every time we saw any of them near knives we left the kitchen straight away.’

His 26-year-old wife backed him up adding: ‘At times they were very volatile, easily triggered and they had violent tendencies. So I was scared.’

The frosty atmosphere in the house became worse after the couple, who became famous after appearing on The Hills, spent 48 hours spying on the rest of the housemates.

Upon their return the worst argument of the three-week stint kicked off, resulting in what is now known by viewers as 'Fright Night'.

Former footballer Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddick ended up losing his temper and accusing the couple of bullying which is something they vehemently deny.

The story of Speidi’s life has been turned into a Channel 5 show which will chart their rise and fall.
It is due to air later this month.
