She has hurt her knee, become a Spice Girl and now to prove she really is barking mad - comic Miranda Hart turned her attention to finding a dog that looked exactly like her and could do some sort of tricks.

After spending the day shaking paws with 200 dogs and training with her borrowed pooch Lola. Miranda and her fellow participants competed fiercely in this afternoon’s dog show, but sadly Miranda and her pooch ended the day prize-less!

The final category, judged by the nation’s favourite sporting commentator, Clare Balding, Britain’s Got Talent winners, Ashleigh and Pudsey, and winner of Crufts’ Best in Show, Gavin Robertson, was won by Emma and Martha as they were declared winner of 'Dog That Looks Most Like Its Owner'.

Miranda, said: 'I’m devastated not to have won even one category.  But I’m not surprised â€" the people of Oxford have wowed me with their doggy dedication.

'I thought I was a dog lover! It does however leave me full of gusto and determination for my last challenge tomorrow. I’ve heard it’s going to be a corker. Help!'

Top of the class in other categories came Dougal the Cairn Border Cross for Funniest Dog, Poppy the Sprocker Spaniel for Dog with the Waggiest Tail, Jones the Border Collie for Miranda’s very own doggy version of musical chairs; Musical Sit and Hamish the Working Sheep Dog for the Obstacle Course â€" who coincidently ate Miranda’s book last Christmas when it was delivered to its owner.
