Professor Green and Millie Mackintosh made their first public outing as an engaged couple on Tuesday evening in London.

Attending Esquire's Big Black Book launch party at restaurant Sushi Samba in The Heron Tower, the pair were surprise and welcome guests at the soiree straight from their romantic trip to Paris.

And clearly besotted with her new piece of jewellery, an overjoyed Millie, 23, told MailOnline that the Hackney rapper, 29, had 'picked the perfect ring'.

Gushing as she spoke about her ring, Millie said: 'It's a radiant setting, it's so sparkly and it's big but too big to wear everyday.'

On Monday evening the reality TV star tweeted a snap of her dazzling engagement ring by Frost of London.

Designed by Pro Green himself the ring is made up of a large rock set on fashionable double bands encrusted with diamonds.

The bespoke ring was made to the rapper's specification and comes in at just under 3 carats.

Proud of her man's taste she continued: 'He's picked the perfect ring, it's really classy and just me.'

When asked when the wedding would take place the Made In Chelsea star added: 'I'm not putting any pressure on it. I'm not thinking about that right now, I'm just going to enjoy being engaged.'

While Millie stressed she's not quite thinking about booking a venue or buying hats, she did let slip plans for an engagement party and said she had a red Givenchy dress already picked out.

Revealing more details about how Green popped the question inside her favourite Parisian restaurant, Millie added: 'We were in a restaurant in Paris and it was empty it was just the two of us.

'It wasn't in front of a whole dining room.'

The reality star was glowing with happiness, and inside Esquire's party, which was sponsored by Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, Millie excitedly showed the Frost Of London ring off to partygoers and former MIC co-star Amber Atherton, while Pro Green played the attentive fiance rarely leaving her side all evening.

Former MIC starlet Amber Atherton squealed with delight when she saw the Quality Street heiress' ring, and listened intently as Millie shared details with her of how Pro Green popped the question.

Millie and Pro Green joined Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie, Tinie Tempah, Sam Claflin, Isaac Ferry, Bonnie Wright, Harry Treadaway, Sarah Ann Macklin and David Gandy at the party to celebrate Esquire's Big Black Book of style.

The couple have been dating for over a year, after the rapper - real name Stephen Manderson - became enamoured by the reality star when he saw her cover shoot for FHM two years ago.

By the end of 2011 he had her number and they debuted their unlikely relationship at the BRIT Awards 2012 ceremony.

The Read All About It rapper's response to Millie's acceptance to his proposal on Tuesday was just two words on Twitter: 'Happy days.'

However, the typically jovial chart-topper did send his sympathies to two Hollywood starlets who would undoubtedly be rather disappointed by his new relationship status.

He tweeted: 'Someone's gonna have to break the news to Jessica Alba and Eva Mendez (sic)'.

Luckily the rapper's DJ friend Lewis Richards offered to 'look after them now.'

For Millie, some of the first people to share their congratulations were her Made In Chelsea castmates.

Francis Boulle tweeted: 'Congratulations to @millsmackintosh and @professorgreen on their engagement. Nice ring. ;) #Weddingbells'.

As the CEO of a jewellery company, his reference to the ring could suggest he may have helped the Professor in the selection process.

Jamie Laing was far simpler with his excited message: '@professorgreen @millsmackintosh congratulations guys!!!! X'.

But it seems Millie and her new fiancé may have overdone the celebrating somewhat, with the reality star tweeting on Tuesday morning: 'Wow ive got a little bit of a headache this morning! #toomuchchampagne.'

The pair also set tongues wagging when they shared a broody picture of themselves cooing over a friend's baby over lunch.

However, in a recent interview, Millie admitted she is in no rush to start a family.
