Boy George blasted One Direction bandmember Liam Payne on Twitter after the boyband singer apparently declined to pose for a photo with his niece.
However, the One Direction heartthrob has hit back at the Culture Club singer and dismissed his claim as a lie.
Eighties singer Boy George had taken his 13-year-old niece Molly Fitzpatrick as his guest to Wednesday night's Brit Awards, but the 51-year-old wasn't impressed with Liam and one of the group's minders.
Family fun night out: Boy George brought his niece Molly Fitzpatrick to Wednesday night's Brit Awards
Unimpressed: The singer hit out at One Direction's Liam Payne
He tweeted: 'Top marks to Harry Styles for stopping for a picture with my niece and Bo**ox's to Liam and the disrespectful w**ker of a minder!'
But a calm and collected Liam responded to the accusation with a message he shared with his fans on Twitter.
He wrote: '@BoyGeorge now now boy lets not tell porkies. Firstly thanks for getting my name wrong three times, then asking me where is liam?...awkward. Then when you finally got it right saying you wanted Niall instead.
'if you would have asked me for a picture i would have stopped bro I just did what you said and pointed niall out for you so u just keep wearing ur strange hats and enjoy yourself my little Georgie pie... It's still not cool you just look weird.' (sic)
The rebuttal: Liam questioned whether Boy George was accurate in his accusations

At the end of the star-studded bash at London's O2 Arena, George praised the stars he enjoyed meeting.
He wrote: 'Stars of the night, Harry Styles, Lana Del Ray, Jessie J. Too many drug f**ked twits to mention elsewhere! Emily (sic) Sande was great!'
After blasting Liam, George was inundated with Twitter responses from 1D fans and asked them to leave him alone.
Ready for the show: George and his niece pose for a self-portrait at their table
He tweeted: 'One Direction fans stop bothering me!'
The singer also admitted American R&B singer Frank Ocean wasn't bothered to talk to him.
He said: 'Frank Ocean walked right through me? I need a bigger hat? Or am I just too queer?'
George's niece was clearly a huge fan of One Direction - especially Niall Horan - so her uncle made appeals for the Irish bandmember to come over to their table.
He tweeted: 'Niall from One Direction come to table 146 and meet @BoyGeorge's niece @Mollyfitzy13 #BRITs2013.'
