Looking at Sophie Ellis-Bextor and then at her mother Janet Ellis, it is easy to see where the former singer gets her flawless skin and slim figure from.

In a rare public outing together the pair were spotted on the front row at London Fashion Week's PPQ show on Friday evening - showing off the famous Ellis stunning cheekbones and glowing skin-tone.

Former Blue Peter presenter Janet, 57, smiled as she posed up with her daughter - a mother-of-two herself - who towered over her mother at the show.

Janet, who is best known for presenting the BBC children's television programmes Blue Peter and the award-winning Jigsaw between 1979 and 1987, opted for a flattering salmon three-quarter sleeve blouse and knee length black skirt.

While her daughter stuck to her traditional floor-length black-tie gown.

Ellis-Bextor was mpressed with PPQ, and summed it up when she said: 'It was really good fun actually. I really liked the colours and I definitely saw a few things that I can picture being worn.'

PPQ designers Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker said the bright colours were because of boredom with black.

Molyneaux said: 'I just got bored of buying black coats. In winter when you go out you spend most of your time in a coat or a jacket and I wanted to pass on that jewel-ism into the tailoring.'

She added that while there were lots of 'hot girls' they would like to dress, they would not name any celebrities.

Acclaimed: Block colours and daring dresses made PPQ a hit with fashion fans

So has PPQ got sophisticated? 'Yes, exactly,' Percy dryly told MailOnline. 'We used to be so juvenile and childish.' His humour is actually so incredibly dry I'm not sure if he's being sarcastic or not. But, still laconic, he briefly goes on to clarify: 'We have gone past teenage years and we are in our early twenties...'

The designers said they were celebrating their London Fashion Week show with a party at the Playboy Club with 'lots of champagne and bunnies'.
