Ben Affleck¿s Argo run continues as he takes home Motion Picture Prize at the Producers Guild Awards

He’s already won Best Picture and Best Director at the Golden Globes for his film Argo.

And now Ben Affleck has added to his list of achievements as he took home the Darryl F. Zanuck Motion Picture Prize at the Producers Guild Awards on Saturday evening. 

The actor, who both directed and stars in the film, shared his award for the impressive and daring film with his fellow producers George Clooney and Grant Heslov.

While Ben may have failed to pick up an Oscar nomination for Best Director, Saturday night’s awards bodes well for the film talking home Best Picture.

The last five films to win the PGA’s motion picture have all gone on to win the coveted award at the Oscars.

Argo is of course up for a total of seven awards at the ceremony, so considering the success of the film so far, it’s likely to take home at least one of the famous statues.

Bold: Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried opted to wear bright colours to the ceremony making them really stand out

Speaking at the awards on Saturday evening, where he was joined by his wife, Ben said the moment was ‘incredible, exciting.’

His co-producer George Clooney wasn’t on hand to share the moment, but Heslov was and he joked that the hardest part of producing the film was working with Ben and George who have both taken home the ‘sexiest man alive’ prize in the past. 

Ben certainly lived up to his one-time sexiest man alive title looking great in a well-fitted black suit with a full beard.

His wife Jennifer Garner looked equally as good in a flattering back lace dress with frill detail around the hem.

She wore her hair half off her face, so her stunning facial features could take centre stage. 

The thriller is a dramatization of the 1980 joinet CIA-Canadian  secret operation to extract six fugitive American diplomatic personnel out of revolutionary Iran.

Winner: Damian Lewis was delighted for Homeland to win as he posed alongside Helen McCrory

Other films which took home awards include Wreck-It Ralph, a Disney animation produced by Clark Spencer, for best Animated Feature.

Modern Family, who lost out at the Golden Globes, took home the TV Comedy Award for the third year running and Homeland took home the TV Drama. 

The documentary award went to Sony Pictures Classics’ Searching for Sugar man produced by Malik Bendjelloul and Simon Chinn.
