When TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh showed off her new blonde locks boyfriend Mario Falcone famously said he felt like he was cheating on his girlfriend by kissing her.

And at the National Television Awards Mario must have felt that he swapped ladies yet again as Lucy debuted her new chin-skimming brunette bob in a daring backless navy dress with fin finish.

With TOWIE up for best entertainment show the cast pulled out all the stops for the UK's TV event of the year.

With her sparkling deep navy dress Lucy looked simply stunning on the red carpet next to dashing former fiancé Mario, who clutched his new look girlfriend tight.

TOWIE is up against Alan Carr: Chatty Man, I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and The Graham Norton Show.

And Lucy wasn't the only stylish TOWIE girl on the red carpet with sisters Billie and Sam Faiers looking stunning on Wednesday night, stealing the show in elegant floor-length gowns.

Hair-raising: While Lucy said she was nervous about showing off her new look, Mario was more than confident with the hairspray with his quiff

Ditching their usual Essex style, the reality stars opted for old-school Hollywood glamour as they arrived at the O2, looking chic and on-trend.

Organisers of the 18th annual event will celebrate the success of the Olympics and Paralympics with a special award and will celebrate favourite moments from the sporting spectacular.

Prizes are being handed out at a star-studded ceremony at London's O2 Arena, televised on ITV1 from 7.30pm.

Backless wonder: Sam shows off her bare back in the glamorous dress as she makes sure that no one stands on it

She wore her blonde hair in a retro beehive and also wore a slightly darker shade of red lipstick than her sister.

Fellow TOWIE star Jessica Wright also went for a long gown, but wore hers backless and bright white, ensuring that all eyes were on her.

There was a Grecian twist to her outfit as she added touches of gold and wore her dark hair in a high top knot.

Grecian goddess: Jessica Wright also opts for a floor-length, backless gown as she shows up at the awards
