The Rebecca Taylor show at New York Fashion Week was so wearable, you could practically hear the registers ringing as the models walked the runway.

The label, which enjoyed a surge of interest when the Duchess of Cambridge was spotted in its tweed jacked last April, looks set for a commercially successful season with the sombre black, midnight and petrol hues that promise to dominate for fall 13.

Easy-to-wear dresses, trousers and skirts were realised in tweed, grey marl and printed silks, with splashes of oxblood and olive by way of colour.

Trends: Easy-to-wear dresses, trousers and skirts in tweed, grey marl and printed silks featured on the 'really wearable' Rebecca Taylor fall 2013 runway

Leather doesn't appear to be going anywhere too soon - it trimmed waistlines and sleeves giving a tough edge to Taylor's otherwise pretty looks.

That Nineties vibe, too, continued, with cropped sweaters skimming just above high-waist pencil skirts - though, one should warn, it is probably best left to those born in that decade...

Staying strong: Leather and peplum do not seem to be going anywhere next season

Lauren Stevenson, PR director at My-wardrobe.com called the collection 'really wearable' and 'full of must-haves for the modern wardrobe.'

She told MailOnline: 'The rich colours and textures made each piece stand out. Favourites had to be the oversized shearling collar jacket and the taupe leather sleeve coat and it's obvious the peplum isn't going anywhere next season.'
