With a catwalk appearance at almost every New York Fashion Week show to date, Cara Delevingne has soared to the top spot as one of the world's most in demand models.

And last night, as the 20-year-old modelled grown-up glamorous designs in Diane von Furstenberg's show, she looked every inch the sophisticated catwalk star.

But just hours before she took to the runway with her big blow-dry and fuchsia lips, Cara had been photographed backstage looking rather different.

Arriving at yesterday's shows and even in the make-up chair off-duty Cara had played the usual geeky goofball, gurning and stuffing a burger into her mouth for the hoardes of photographers.

Cara mingled backstage at DKNY before making her way to the Diane von Furstenberg show in high spirits, with a beaming grin, wearing a glam rock 'Kiss Me' t-shirt by Terrible Movement.

As she sat down in the make-up chair Cara wolfed down a burger as the team of hair and make-up experts worked their magic and she was soon transformed in to the kind of grown-up girl von Furstenberg is famous for dressing.

And on the catwalk Cara turned on the supermodel style to model the designer's signature printed dresses, updated for the new season with a cut-out keyhole style.

Other designs included flowing silk and chiffon classically cut dresses and jumpsuits with neutral graphical prints, splashes of hot pink, red and blue.
