She may owe the taxman £149,000, but Martine McCutcheon likes to keep up appearances.
The actress has added £550 worth of tumbling hair extensions to her short brunette bob.
Martine excitedly informed her 61,431 Twitter followers of the extravagant investment, which came days after she declared herself bankrupt with debts totalling £187,000.
What a treat! Martine McCutcheon gets £550 hair extensions days after declaring herself bankrupt
On Monday, the 36-year old relayed her enthusiasm for the upcoming hair treatment: 'Oooo I've just met the girls doing my hair extensions on wednesday! So excited for longer lush locks!(sic)'
This was a day before she filed for insolvency, with KPMG trustees identifying Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs as her 'largest creditor'.
Martine - who recently married musician Jack McManus in a lavish Italian ceremony - is now the proud owner of a new head of 100 per cent organic hair by the hands of Gold Hair Extensions.
Although reports suggest the hairdo costs £1000, the company's website show the most expensive option for the Easilock extensions at £550 for a full head.
How did she pay? Martine owes £187,000, £147,000 of which to HMRC
Luxury: A full set of Easi-Lock extensions cost £550 according the company's website
Wages: Martine's last acting paycheck came from a small role in Midsomer Murders
Mail Online contacted McCutcheon and the Gold Extension hair company but have yet to receive comment.
After the treatment, Martine tweeted the company a message of thanks:
'you cheered me up with your kindness and new luscious hair! Thanks for treating me and making me feel nice. X (sic)'
The former EastEnder allegedly received a discount on the extensions in exchange for promotion across Twitter.
The hair experts then tweeted a before and after picture montage to their social media account after the makeover was completed: 'Looking fabulous Martine McCutcheon transformation @easilocks by GOLD @MartineOfficial fitted by our talented Jodie'.
While Martine enjoyed her hair treatment, KPMG's David Standish was busy sorting out her finances after he was appointed joint trustee in bankruptcy of McCutcheon by the Secretary of State on 24 January 2013.
< span>At the announcement of her insolvency, Standish said, 'Ms McCutcheon petitioned for her own bankruptcy at Kingston-Upon-Thames County Court.
'We are now responsible for administering her estate and are in the process of establishing the individual's assets and liabilities; the largest creditor being Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs.'
Martine will be discharged from bankruptcy on January 2, 2014.
In total she owes approximately £187,000, £30,000 to Lloyds bank, but after being dropped as the face of Danone UK, and failing to garner as much film and television success after starring alongside Hugh Grant in Love Actually, the actress has allowed her debts to mount up.
But as she will now have to sell on her assets to pay back her hefty credit, these expensive extensions may not last too long.
Perfect moment: The actress never garnered much success after starring alongside Hugh Grant in 2003's Love Actually
