His divorce from Katy Perry was a long drawn out affair, but it seems Russell Brand is now able to laugh at his short marriage.
The comic was happy to use the topic for entertainment purposes as he ended his exile from radio and returned with a special show on Monday night.
Amongst the many jokes, Russell, 37, discovered that his friends and co-hosts, Noel Gallagher, Matt Morgan and Trevor Lock all had bets on how long his marriage would last.
Rock and roll: Noel Gallagher made lots of jokes about the shortness of Russell Brand's marriage to Katy Perry on their radio show on Monday night
Joking around on the XFM show, which was being broadcast in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust, Russell listened as his friends mocked his time with Katy.
Matt began the comical assault by giving a review of Russell's entrance to the wedding on the back of an elephant.
However, before he could begin he stated that he knew the marriage lasted exactly 14 months because some of the guys had a sweepstake going.
Love lost: Katy Perry, pictured last week at a hockey game, has since moved on from Russell
In the name of charity: Noel and Russell put on the special show for the Teenage Cancer Trust
You gotta roll with it: Noel revealed that some of Russell's friends had a bet going to see how long the marriage would last
Short lived: Joking around on the XFM show Russell listened as his friends mocked his time with Katy
Noel found the whole situation hilarious and erupted with laughter which prompted Russell to state: 'Don't cackle I tried my hardest. How come you know exactly how long my marriage was. Was you timing it?'
Noel then chimed in and said: 'For the record in the sweepstake I came the closest.'
Russell, still playing along with the joke then said: 'Thanks, nice to know you're all behind me, very supportive, nice to know you're all supporting me.'
Th boys are back: Russell and the team were reunited for his return to the airwaves
Larking around: Noel Fielding also joined the lads in the studio for some giggles
The animal man: Noel was his usual bizarre self as he displayed some homemade art
Then in his best funny voice Brand added: 'Let me tell you a thing about marriage. Marriage is a bond that can last up to 14 months⦠This is a sacred 14-month arrangement. Begins on an elephant. Ends in a newspaper'
Poking fun at his shambles of a marriage wasn't the only thing up for discussion as his grand entrance to the ceremony was ridiculed.
Trevor said: 'I was just going to quickly culturally review one part of your wedding. We talked about this, I can't do the whole wedding, well parts of it anyway, or the marriage.
'It was a lovely moment it was the bit in a wedding where man usually walks into a church.
Party time: Noel and Russell enjoyed a little love in as they discussed a large range of topics
The sweepstake: Noel was apparently the person who won the bet and guessed closest to the how long Katy and Rusty would last
'In Russell's world it was a sort of solemn dignified journey on an elephant it was about 20ft.
'You came in on an a elephant with a whole crowd of people watching, you didn't smile and wave at anyone, and you came in with a solemn studied look.'
The jesting continued as Trevor said: 'The thing is when you're on a elephant you have to get off a elephant to do the wedding.
'The whole platform tips really badly forward... and then you're helped off the elephant by a whole team.'
Brand added: 'That marriage was shaky from the get go.'
The whole radio show can be listened to at XFM.co.uk.
The elephant man: The presenters also poked fun at Russell's grand entrance into the ceremony
