Margherita Missoni has revealed her tips on how to dress a baby bump.
The 30-year-old, who is expecting her first child with husband Eugenio Amos in August, has discovered that silk pajamas and well-fitting pieces make the best maternitywear.
'Whatever you thought you would wear when you got pregnant, you won't be wearing that,' the Italian brunette told Grazia Daily.
Dressing a baby bump: Margherita Missoni, who is 17 weeks pregnant with her first child, has revealed that silk pajamas and well-fitting pieces make the best maternitywear
One reason for this, she says, is that her body has changed drastically. The Milan-based beauty estimates her own chest has grown two sizes since becoming pregnant 17 weeks ago.
'While all those high-waisted dresses would fit your tummy,' she says, 'You can't do them up over your top half.'
So instead of empire-line dresses commonly associated with pregnancy dressing, Margherita suggests loose silk fabrics, especially in the early stages.
She told the magazine: 'At the beginning when you don't look so pregnant, I think it's all about dressing boyish, with jackets and loose layers.'
To accomplish this look, Margherita, who is expecting a boy, says she sports silk trousers that sit low on the waist, as well as a flattering pair of JBrand maternity jeans.

'I've also bought a few pieces from Dries Van Noten which are cut to skim the body, so really work well for pregnancy,' she said.
The fashion house heiress is due in late August, so a large part of her pregnancy will be during the summer - in Milan, Italy.
To deal with the sweltering heat at that time of year, she plans to wear lots of silk pajamas.
'I always wear some beautiful silk pajamas from my grandmother's trousseau in the summer,' she told the magazine.

And luckily for Margherita, her racecar driver husband has bought her several sets of silk sleepwear from Prada.
She adds that being pregnant is a great excuse to dress up more to keep your confidence high.
'I've been wearing lipstick and heels,' she said. 'I just feel so much more womanly now, it's like it's okay to dress up.'
And, of course, the expectant mother advocates Missoni pieces to wear during pregnancy, since 'the knits have some give to them, so they expand with me,' she explains.
Margherita, who is the eldest granddaughter of the Missoni fashion label's founders, married her 28-year-old husband in Brunello, Italy, last June.
