Both he and Macauley Culkin are former child stars born just two months apart in 1980.
And it appears even in adulthood, Ryan Gosling feels a certain kinship with the Home Alone star.
The 32-year-old wore a white T-shirt featuring an image of Macauley as a child while he filled his SUV vehicle with gas on Friday in Studio City, California.
Both former child stars: Ryan Gosling was snapped wearing a Macauley Culkin T-shirt while pumping gas on Friday in Studio City, California
The handsome actor showed off his strong arms under the fitted T-shirt as he patiently filled up his tank.
The heartthrob looked effortlessly stylish in brown trousers, boots and black shades, his sandy blonde hair short and tousled.
At one point Ryan, who People named America's Most Wanted Man, flashed his famous smile as he leaned against his car.

Wanna fight? The actor playfully formed a fist and snarled, as if itching for a brawl
The Gangster Squad star also gestured playfully at the camera at one point, forming a fist with his one hand and a snarl as if he were ready to brawl.
Most eye-catching was his T-shirt, which showed a young Macauley pretending to choke himself on the cover of Life magazine.
Perhaps Ryan wore the clothing item in tribute to the former child star, who hasn't achieved Ryan's same level of success as an adult.
Ryan found fame at the age of eight on the Mickey Mouse Club, while Macauley, 32, become a superstar overnight when he starred in the 1990 film Home Alone.
Paths diverged: Both Macauley (left) and Ryan (right) were child stars, but the Home Alone star hasn't achieved Ryan's same level of success as an adult
It was recently revealed that Ryan plans on taking a break from Hollywood in the coming months.
'I've been doing it too much. I've lost perspective on what I'm doing,' he told The Associated Press.
'I think it's good for me to take a break and reassess why I'm doing it and how I'm doing it. And I think this is probably a good way to learn about that.
